Damage Control

This is hoodles and oodles old..... and I cannot for the life of me remember why that bitch hasn't made her way onto my blog - she managed to slide her way onto my website. Cheeky minx.

I Will Follow You Into The Dark

The latest is Cleopatra. A lovely lady indeed.

Anyways, I am feeling another series coming on....and just to reveal it straight off (I probably should do something really dramatic and build up suspense somehow). Alas I think none of us is that bothered. So it will be like my Hollywood Legends series, but Music Legends instead........
Make of that what you will. Peace

I'm So Happy You're So Happy

Sometimes all is well. And sometimes it isn't.

Will You Miss Me When I'm Gone?

Again, I am sorry for not posting but I thought I would give you the chance to miss me for a while. This lovely lady is Eurydice, who was lost to the Underworld from her love Orpheus, who proceeded to travel down there to get her back.

It's been a while since I did this image and now I'm feeling the absence of constant image making in my life. I plan to overcome this by perhaps adding more to my Hollywood project with stars that I didn't get round to doing because quite frankly they were cut from the editorial. Hopefully this will stop me from being quite so bored that jsdbavjdshbjbhjfffffdkmsnjbds oops, sorry, it happened again. My head hit the keyboard because I was that bored to death by myself.
Time to get hella wasted.

 Brigitte Bardot:

 Cary Grant:

 Clark Gable:

 Elizabeth Taylor:

 Grace Kelly:

 Greta Garbo:

 James Dean:

 Marilyn Monroe:

 Rita Hayworth:

 Rock Hudson:

 Vivien Leigh:

My Heart Belongs To Mummy

Lord knows my mother is great. I love the woman to bits but I don’t tell her as often as I should. Therefore, I am celebrating my mother, and all mothers in general, and how actually fantastic they are at their jobs. My mum loves Grace Kelly; her style and her elegance, and so I am celebrating my mother by channelling this international icon of beauty and style.

Anything You Can Do...

Firstly I'm so sorry for not posting anything for about 10 years. You have my deepest apologies. But to be honest with you, I have to talk myself in from the ledge about every 10 minutes because this deadline I have is slaying me. I've made a massive list of what I need, and what I have got already. Thankfully what I have got slightly outweighs what I need to do... I just keep myself to keep going cos I'm nearly there really. So for now I will leave you with Vivien Leigh from my Hollywood Royalty series. Peace.

Can't Fight Biology

Anyone who knows me knows that I'm not religious at all. I swear my skin would burn if I ever entered a holy place such as a church or Dibley (even though I adore that show and indeed Dawn French). However there is something about the stories told in the Bible that is actually quite interesting and legendary. This fell hand-in-hand with the fact that one of Brigitte Bardot's most high-profile movies (I do realise this film has nothing to do with the Bible story but bare with me) is "And God Created Woman". Fitting really, isn't it? I can't really think of anyone of the era who would fit the "Eve" image than her.... Nowadays it would be Angelina without a doubt and I dare you to defy me on that. So this image is (trying) to take the elements of Bardot's sex-kitten sensuality and the Garden of Eden..... Well just greenery/foliage really....

Forever Young

I'm working on a new series now inspired by Hollywood icons of the 40's and 50's. If I was saying what Im really thinking, I'm imagining all of these legends, Marilyn Monroe, Cary Grant, Ava Gardner and the like, all running around West Beverly High School instead of the recent cast of 90210. I think it would be interesting to see which starlet would go from major drug whore to teen mum to pop star whose one-time superstar boyfriend dies in a car crash and then proceeds to take his unrecorded material for her own, like Adrianna's story arc has been of late....indeed can i just take a moment to appreciate Adrianna. Mainly just how gorgeous Jessica Lowndes actually is and also how much i simply like the name Adrianna. Anyways I digress. This series of images is of about 14 icons (I'm grouping Fred and Ginger into one image), but I'm using my raw materials that have no actual first hand connection to these icons (i.e. i'm not starting with images of the person...) I want to achieve each icon's style through each image rather than just presenting a picture of them..... Here is the beginning stages of one Greta Garbo.

Here Comes The Flood

As a treat to you, I will give you all 11 images from my Chalk & Cheese series. Some of them I love and some of them I love less but you will love them or I will have to take you outside and slap the wax out your ears until you feel the love for them.

Colour And Light

Unlike Rihanna's video for S&M, I know the boundaries of literally copying David LaChapelle's work, and using it for inspiration. I used one of his shots of Cameron Diaz as in idea for a photography project. I kinda wish I had put more of my own stamp into this, but hells look at the bubbles dude. They are totally awesome. Don't worry, you can admit it too.

There Won't Be Trumpets

My latest offering to you involves an extremely quick image I made for a friend of mine, who is creating some form of zine. I had meant to spend more time on it, but alas my weekend was too good to do any so it ended up being a night-before-the-hand-in-job. Soz.

Something's Coming (a.k.a. BOOOM Crunch)

This Monday evening is the big one. The big private view for "Chalk and Cheese", probably the greatest exhibition ever since Mario Testino at the Portrait Gallery. I'm kind of excited about seeing everyone's work together in one collective space.
But here we go people. This is what I'm putting up......

I've become quite attached to all the images I've been making recently, and I've really enjoyed making them too. The first image has a sensuality to it that i wanted to convey and the second is just as down right dirrty as I wanted. Overall I'm happy.

Never Judge A Lady By Her Lover

This is just a little teaser for you of what I am working on now. I'm growing to like each of them in their own way.

This woman, for example, seems like the kind of person I could get along with. She seems spunky. I have this entire soap opera planned out in my head and she is definitely one of the leads. There's also a stud, the rich bitch, the tranny and of course the obligatory drug addict. And some blatant prostitution along the way. It's gonna rock so completely majorly.

Who's Zoomin' Who?

Some amazingly talented and clever illustrators at Bath Spa are throwing some stuff up on the walls in the AV Studio in Bath. It's gonna be blingin'.....

Nice Is Different Than Good

James and the Giant Peach is a book that I never want to read again. Ever. So much so that I'd rather be forced to watch a medley of anything Lady Gaga has ever done - seriously I just watched the video for "Born This Way", and I'm still trying to control my hands from not gouging out my own eyes. I'm literally scarred. Will that woman ever just shut the fuck up.

There are so many things about this that I just feel like changing. But every time I go to, I come back to this same conclusion. Ergo: it's finished.

With You I'm Born Again

Decisions, decisions. I think I may need professional help. I'm torn. Like when Leona speaks and I think "Meh, I only like you" and then she sings and I shout "hells yes woman, I love you".

Moral of the story. Speak less. Sing more. (and I love Leona).

I Saw What I Saw

As I haven't put anything up here in a while, and with the pangs of guilt laying heavily on my shoulders, I am giving this to you as a preview of a new series I am working on for an exhibition us illustration students are having in a few weeks time. I'm basing it around the idea of androgyny, with LOVE and SEX being my words of the week. Enjoy

I'm definitely happy with the abstract patterns and shapes that are going on here. However I'm really not convinced by the pencil work that I'm doing. I really haven't gone as far as I want to with these - more sex and love for sure. I will explore. And get back to you. Til Then...

Time After Time

I had previously done lino-prints for this Silhouette based project of mine, back when Gossip Girl was good and I was thinner, but I decided to go back and do them with more detail.

These were done with a stencil of the figure over the lino block with each "organic' on. Below is the reverse of each of the above, although not as successful I feel.

Still, I find them pleasing. Like when Hugh Jackman takes his shirt off in any movie.
